And There’s One More, The Blogger Recognition Award

blogger-recognition-award

We’ve been starting the year right so far.  A co-blogger has nominated When In My Journeys for the Blogger Recognition Award and it is such an honor.  I know that this is not a major recognition but I am glad that in my own little way I was able to make an impact to those who have read the experiences that I share in this blog.  Thank you very much to Jen Li of GYPSYBUS28 for the nomination.

I have been following Jen for the past 2-3 months now, here’s a bit something about Jen.  She started her blog for the love of baking and cooking and eventually it has grown into sharing all her passions about different things in life.  Know more about Jen and her wonderful blog.

Blogger Recognition Award Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  2. Write a post to show your award
  3. Give a brief story of how your blog started
  4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
  5. Select other bloggers you want to give this award to
  6. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them & provide the link to the post you created.

How my blog got started

For the longest time, I have had this thought of going on an adventure around the Philippines starting from its Northernmost province to its Southernmost tip, but to no avail.  And then that fateful day came, my first solo travel in Coron re-ignited my love to explore places and here I am now sharing my adventures with you.  I still have a long way to go but it’s already a work in progress.  Read more of it here.

Advice

I am fairly new to blogging myself and I am not claiming to be an expert. But I can say that I have learned a few things for the past few months that would be useful for those who wanted to start and set up their own space in the web.

Be Committed – You have to have commitment and be hard working to make your blog work – just like any other job, you have to put yourself into it.

Do Not Stop Learning – When you think that you already know everything, think again. Follow other bloggers, both experienced and newbies like yourself. Read their posts and understand their style of storytelling. Get inspirations from their work, then customize it and put in your own spin.

My nominees are:

CHASEJASEPH – Jase hopes that his stories would be able to inspire others to explore boundaries too just like he did.  He uses his blog as an instrument to reach out to people and tell them what he can’t say in actual conversations.  Check out Jase’s blog as he shares his travels, food trips and other life events.

#JAMIELIBOTSA blog by couple Jr and Jam who both have the passion for traveling and backpacking.  It serves as their personal diary of their most cherished travel experiences.  Join them as they go around the Philippines one destination at a time.

Wanderlust Bee – the author Bethan, from North-West England runs this interesting blog.  The blog has opened her eyes to other blogger’s experiences and just made her want to see the world more.  While she has a full-time job, visiting new places remained as her passion.  So far, she has visited 21 countries.  Join her in her quest to explore the world.

VYLYST – is an acronym for Vibrant Youth | Lively Years | Sensational Travel.  The author, Vy, created the blog to document her list of happiness which are food, art and cultures.  Her ultimate goal is to explore very culture in the world.  Catch more of Vy and let her lively photographs take you to every destination she’s been to.

SENDING POSTCARDS HOME! – A blog by Nandita and Raga, they currently live in Dublin keeping a 9-5 job. Take a peek at their small space in the internet where they share their exciting travel experiences.

Happy and Safe travels to you guys.

How about you? Have you been recognized for your work for the first time? How did it feel? Share your thoughts.
