Batanes is a group of small islands at the northernmost part of the Philippines. It is well-known for its people, the Ivatans who are genuinely kind and helpful, its towering lighthouses, Spanish-influenced stone houses, century-old churches and exquisite panoramas. It is the smallest province in the Philippines, yet it is the hardest to reach not just because of its distance but also of the exorbitant flight cost associated with visiting this dream destination. The high price tag was an advantage to the province and its people for they were able to control the travelers thus preserving its cultural heritage as well as its natural and man-made wonders.

Batanes is one of our dream destinations. We’ve seen photos of the islands; they are so scenic. Unfortunately, we have to save and plan for it thoroughly as we are living in Cebu. And going to Batanes from Cebu (with connecting flights in Manila) eats up a huge chunk of our budget.
The fare going to Batanes is like going for a trip abroad na nga eh. Grabbing a great seat sale would be you best option. But it’s not just the place that is really beautiful and peaceful, the people are too.
Now I realize why so many people is considering Philippines as their next travel destination. It’s beautiful and your pictures too! Congratulations! Hope you like my blog too. Greetings from Argentina, Roberto
Hola Roberto!
The Philippines really has lots of amazing places you can go to. Even us locals are truly mesmerized whenever we visit those destinations. Thank you for noticing my work and checking on my page. I also enjoyed your blog. You have amazing shots there. Your photos speak for itself (I do not need to understand the words 🙂 ).
Thanks to you! But if you want to read them in English, there is a button that I made that takes you to the language of your choice. Just press the TANSLATION Icon on my article, then choose the flag. And let me know if you can read it! Cheers!
Will sure do.
I’ve been thinking about potentially visiting the Philippines but didn’t know about the Batanes at all so thanks for these insights!
