Hi! I’m Ricci Paul, I have always yearned to try out new things but I tend to procrastinate or too reluctant to take that first step to making it happen and being an introvert only made it even harder. I am more comfortable doing things on my own but don’t get me wrong, I am not anti-social, if you would ask me to travel along I usually don’t say “NO” (depends on the circumstances 🙂 ).

I am a photography enthusiast and I have been interested to travel not just for the sake of vacationing but to discover history, culture and people.

The Blog

Mission & Vision

Aside from travel tips and suggestions, I hope that the stories and experiences in this blog may serve as an inspiration for more people to go out, enjoy and live a life that they truly wanted for themselves (even if it’s on the sidelines). People should take action of what they have been dreaming for a long time and don’t let it be just an aspiration. wheninmyjourneys welcome profile

Inception

When I went on my first solo travel to Coron, Palawan, the people that I was with on the tour were asking me if I was a blogger. I asked, why? They said, because I travel alone, I have a DSLR camera, and just shoot at whatever I see on my way.

Hmmm…Is that really how a typical blogger looks like? The same thing happened on my 2nd trip, when I went to Batanes, 3 weeks after my first. My tour mates were joking around that each of us is a blogger, that we all have this blogger-like characteristics at one point.

Little did I know it seeded an idea in my mind. Then one day, I met a very good old friend over lunch and she mentioned that she had started to set up a blog and made some drafts but has not published anything yet.

That was like, Ding! Ding! Ding! Could this be it? Is it a sign that I should start putting those experiences into inscriptions? I guess that I nurtured the idea too much that it grew and ignited my passion to travel and to pen about those experiences out of pure inspiration.

Something to look forward to

wheninmyjourneys welcome profile3When In My Journeys is all about stepping out of that comfort zone and bringing all those aspirations to life while exploring different places, trying the not so familiar things and meeting new souls.

I hope that the experiences shared here may inspire those who feel the same. I have started not just a journey which literally means to travel from once place to another but a journey in discovering myself more, pushing myself to the limits and to know what else I am capable of.

As cliché as it may sound, I say, seize the moment! Truly, it is never too late to pursue what you’re passionate about while you still can.  Trust me, I know.  So don’t fret, I’m sure you can also start on your own, soon.

Thank you for the taking the time to read the stories and joining When In My JourneysLet us all Go Out, Travel, Enjoy and Live Life!

Have a Happy and Safe travels everyone! 🙂

  1. I so agree, usual question from the people I met on the road, are you a blogger? especially if I speak in front of the camera… hahahaha.. but as a solo female traveler, majority of the questions I received.. you travel alone? why? no woman wants to travel alone.. ahmmmmmmmmmmm made me think.. hahahaha

    1. Hi Ferna,

Thank you for dropping me a line. How do you answer the blogger question? I don’t know if I can do the speaking in front of a camera thing, it feels weird seeing myself in a video. 🙂
I salute all those independent and courageous solo female travelers out there like you. 🙂

  2. Wow. Nice blog! 🙂 Coron was my 1st solo travel and I love taking pictures too. But because I was too busy or maybe a bit lazy writing, my plan for blogging did not really materialized. Upon reading this, mas nachallenged ako na magsulat ’bout mga past travels and hikes. 🙂 Thank you for inspiring. God bless po

    1. Hi there! Coron is such a nice place to start traveling solo. Thank you for the kind words and I am happy na nainspire ka na magsulat pa ng mga past travel mo. Keep on doing what you’re doing and keep on writing. Naiinspire din ako na ituloy-tuloy na mag-hike (sana) after reading posts like yours. God bless din. Ingat and Safe Travels.

  3. I instantly got hooked on your leafing through the pages of this blog. You’re right, that link will surely glue a visitor to this site.

  4. Great to know a fellow Pinoy who also like blogging and taking pictures as a hobby. Lots of thanks for visiting my site as well! Cheers!

  5. I have enjoyed getting to learn a little about you. And I especially like the “blue” photo above with your bicycle in it. One of my sons is a road racing bicyclist who has also done two-week solo tours around America. I look forward to reading more of your posts and seeing more of your lovely pictures! 🙂 Thank you for stopping by my blog!

  6. Totally understand about being an introvert, as I am one too! Strangely enough though, I really hate traveling on my own. Probably because it’s difficult for me to approach strangers, so then I end up really alone, which is a bit too much aloneness for me. Fortunately hubby is a huge extrovert, so we have a nice balance when we travel! Happy travels and welcome to the world of blogging! 🙂

    1. Hi Shelly,
It is really hard for me to approach strangers too, even if it is simply to ask for directions but these are the small things that I’ve learned and still learning to overcome with traveling solo. Hopefully I will succeed. 🙂 Thank you for following my blog back and for welcoming me to a new world.

  7. Welcome to the world of blogging and thanks for following my blog. Happy photographing and cyber-journalism.

    1. Thanks for the warm welcome Lee. I enjoyed your photos and I’m sure I can get some pointers on how to shoot wildlife (photography in general) from your posts.
